Legal authorities have announced that a former physician stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The charges follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
