Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is uncertain and the United States has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.

It said debris fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
