The Streaming Giant Casts Ideal Star for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is poised to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the major clash won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.

Netflix announced this week that the talented performer has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their right hand. Escola, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that character reimagined as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, as in the initial comic and cartoon version.

The new cast member is joined by several other recently announced actors who will portray the organization to the screen, featuring chief Mr. 0, portrayed by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the cast as the ruler of the fictional land.

Although Bon Clay is a major member of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this marks a significant shift in the timing of their first appearance, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Their mix of sharp comedic timing and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the role. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
